For my appropriate technology class I'm going to be building a bamboo bicycle. Right now I'm doing research on methods and materials as well as bamboo bicycle projects around the world.
As I understand it right now I need to heat treat green bamboo to get the strongest tubes possible and I'm going to use hemp fibers and epoxy to join the tubes together. I'll write more updates as I design the frame and start building, but right now I just want to share some links about bamboo bicycle projects.
